Jewellery CAD design
Turn a sketch, photo or written brief into a jewellery CAD model ready for production. We work through the details with you, and nothing is printed until you approve the model.
CAD design for the jewellery trade
ZCAD prepares jewellery CAD for jewellers, retailers, workshops, manufacturers, independent designers and jewellery brands across the UK, from our base in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. We prepare files with casting, setting and finishing in mind, so the model is ready for the next stage of production.
Tell us what the piece needs to do, which details are fixed and which are still open. We review your brief, ask about anything that is unclear and agree the work with you before modelling starts.
What to send with your brief
- References. Sketches, photos or a reference piece, with a note on what matters in each one.
- Size. The finger size or the key dimensions of the piece.
- Stones. Stone shapes and measurements, and how you would like them set.
- Metal. The metal you plan to cast in.
A photo rarely shows every dimension, so tell us which features of a reference you want to keep. If you already have a CAD file that only needs changes, our CAD amendments service is usually the better place to start.
You approve the model before anything is printed
We share the CAD with you for checking. Look at the proportions, stone layout, size and any details agreed in the brief, and tell us if anything needs to change. Printing only goes ahead once you have approved the model.
Need a wax print or presentation renders as well? Include them in your enquiry and we will plan them as part of the same project.
How much does jewellery CAD design cost?
Our pricing page shows the current starting prices, including CAD design with a wax print. The final price depends on the design, and we confirm it with you before any work starts.
Timing depends on the design and our current workload. Tell us your deadline when you enquire and we will let you know what is realistic.
Tell us what your next piece needs
Tell us about the piece and what you already have. We will reply with what is needed, how we would approach it and the best way to send any files.
